Description
This late fifties or early sixties gold metallic embroidered party dress is made of a stunning fabric, with gold on black flowers and a wavy, gold embroidery covering the dress. It is professionally made, without labels. The waist has round piping, and it closes with a metal back zip. The front of the bodice has the classic neckline of the era, high and straight across, with a slight fold. The back is lower cut. The dress is lined in black acetate. I believe this dress to be an example of a stunning, yet obsolete, vintage fabric, portraying mid-century glamour, in a simple, yet classic dress style. It is estimated to be a size 8. It measures bust 36″ waist 28″ hips 38″ and length 33″ from centre back and 38″ from the front. It has been in my collection for thirty years, has not been worn since I bought it, and is in pristine condition.
