Description
This very ornate and exceptionally crafted open work spoon features a man serenading a woman in a barn with the cows and goats as onlookers. It has a curly art nouveau pattern around the edges, and features a sheep at the end of the handle, standing on top a distinctive art nouveau pattern. It does not have any maker’s marks. It measures 8.2″ long x 3″ at the widest part of the spoon. The spoon itself is 4.2.5″ long. The sheep accent at he top is 1.75″ x 1.5″. It is hand made and you can see the individual cut-outs on the back were meticulously done. Although it is not sterling silver, it is a beautiful example of antique metal art. Estimated to be late 1800’s to early 1900’s.
