Description
I left the patina as is for now, on this beautiful and intricately made one-of-a-kind artisan spoon. It has many features, with the ship at the top giving the appearance of a cartouche on a 1700’s map. The silver workmanship is superb, featuring a woman at the centre. Around the woman is a criss-cross openwork pattern surrounded by a curly art nouveau style floral vine motif. The woman is holding a basket in her left hand, and something else with a round top in her right hand. The edging is ornate and detailed. It is hallmarked Sterling 925. Estimated to be late 1800’s. It measures 7″ long. The spoon portion is 2.75″ in diameter, the spiral handle is 4.35″ long, and the ship at the top measures 1.1″ across x 1.5″ high.
