Description

This beautiful dress is almost a hundred years old, and is reminiscent of the Hollywood Golden Age, the peak period of twentieth century film, depicting escapism into exquisite glamour. The 1930’s era featured slinky bias cut and embellished gowns, enhancing a stunning feminine silhouette. The dress is unlined, and is a halter style, with a high neck at the back, and a split in the back. It features a V neck bodice, with a concentration of rhinestones, dipping to the bias cut on the waist. It has a 10″ long metal side zipper. The rhinestones are interspersed throughout the dress.

It measures Bust 36″ Waist 30″ Hips 38″ and Length from the neckline centre back is 56″. The dress drapes beautifully due to the bias cut, and generous amount of fabric. The sweep or measurement of the full bottom of the dress is 108″. It would be estimated to be a size 8-9 in Canadian or US sizing.

The dress is in good condition overall, but due to its’ age, is not perfect. There is a slight discolouration in the back near the bottom, which is not noticeable due to the amount of fabric toward the bottom of the dress. There is also slight discolouration, and two missing rhinestones on the front sleeve, which can be folded over 1/8″ or 1/4″ on both sides, and stitched by a professional seamstress to cover the flaw, without detracting from the dress.
