Description
This lovely 1940’s dress has been to a few parties. There are faint perspiration stains under the arms, and some stains near the hemline. The dress was soaked and washed in Orvus soap, because it needed a good cleaning. The underarm stains are still visible, but faint. The hem had been turned up a good eight inches, so I let the hem down to its original length before washing it. The design is unique and flattering, featuring tight gathering on the slightly drop waist, with a large bow at the back. The fabric is probably best described as a rayon crepe, with the flower pattern as a flat weave, integrated into the fabric. The price is reduced for this dress because of the underarm marks. Otherwise, it is in good condition for its age.
