Description
This very interesting hand carved Asian knot necklace features a large intricate jade carving that measures 1.75″ across x 1.5″ x .65″ thick. It has two jade accent beads that measure .5″ long, and two smaller round jade beads at the clasp. The necklace is strung on silk cord featuring a double layer of rich brown braided silk. There is gold and green silk wrapped above the accent beads, as well as toward the top of the necklace. The top portion features a narrower single strand braided silk with two jade accent beads on the end. The portion above the large carving features a series of wrapped and braided silk knots. For those who have an in-depth knowledge of Chinese culture, the carving represents certain animals, and the knots also have cultural significance. The overall length is 26″. It is in very good condition.
