Description
This Vendome statement necklace is an example of the inspirational 1960’s bold and iconic upscale designs. Vendome started out as a subsidiary of Coro, as a more expensive line. They formed their own company in 1953 and created jewelry until the 1970’s. The sixties was a peak period for Vendome with chief designer Helen Marion. Many of the Vendome necklaces are good quality and classy but understated, especially those from the 1970’s. It is a pleasure to list this more dramatic example of Vendome’s talent. It measures 18.5″ long, and has a hook clasp with a fleur de lis accent. The bib portion measures 4.5″ long. Each of the joined metal pieces that make up the bib have a unique design with multiple elements. It has a Vendome hang tag, and is in excellent condition.
