Description
The carved portion measures 1.25″ in diameter. Condition shows an irregularity on one edge. These button style earrings look to be 1930’s or earlier. They are set on a more modern pierced post type backing. I am not sure what they are made of, but would say they seem most like bakelite or thermoset plastic. They have an Aboriginal style carving on them, and there is a bit of a red sheen. They do not have a wood-like grain as seen in bog oak.
