Description
This porcelain floral themed miniature work of art measures 2″ x 1.65″. It is marked on the back Bone China around a crown. Beneath that is a fancy circle with number 51 inside. Also Royal Worcester and Made in England. The porcelain is in good condition. The brass has places where the surface coating is lifted.
The system of marking Royal Worcester pieces is rather convoluted, with dots and variations in the number of dots as years went by. This is the link to help date historical pieces. I have placed this between 1930’s – 1950’s. Similar to Limoges, where some of their items are all hand painted, and others are a combination of transfer decals, with painted highlights, I believe some of the Worcester vintage pieces are transfer decal, or have painted highlights over transfer decal. However, on this particular brooch, it is hand painted.
