Description
Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche late 1960’s or early 1970’s skirt. It measures waist 30″ hips 38″ length 32″. It is made of cotton with pleating at the top and a side zipper. The gold metallic hand embroidered accent is 7″ wide. The style, zipper and label are all consistent with late sixties or early seventies era. I am inclined to believe it is 1960’s, and would be reasonably dated between 1966-1969. The condition is very good.
Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche label was launched in 1966 in a bid to democratize fashion by creating a ready to wear label for the general population. They were considered to be the first major fashion house to advance this concept.
